Vingegaard accelerated eleven kilometres from the line and won solo at Piancavallo, his fifth stage win of this Giro. Derek Gee-West, Jai Hindley and Felix Gall sprinted together for the scraps, 1'15" behind the winner. Overall victory in Rome now looks a formality.
